  • IP – Ingress Protection
  • 6 – Level of protection against solid objects
  • 5 – Level of protection against water

Solid Objects

  • X = No data available
  • 0 = No protection
  • 1 = Objects greater than 50 mm (hand)
  • 2 = Objects greater than 12.5 mm (finger)
  • 3 = Objects greater than 2.5 mm
  • 4 = Objects greater than 1.0 mm
  • 5 = Dust protected
  • 6 = Dust tight

Liquids

  • X = No data available
  • 0 = No protection
  • 1 = Water drops
  • 2 = Water drops at 15° angle
  • 3 = Water spray at 60° angle
  • 4 = Water splashing from any angle
  • 5 = Water jets from any angle
  • 6 = Powerful water jets and heavy seas
  • 7 = Temporary submersion (30 minutes at 3 feet)
